ExplorerPatcher

About ExplorerPatcher

What is ExplorerPatcher?

ExplorerPatcher is a free, open-source customization utility for Windows 11 and Windows 10. It restores familiar interface behavior that Microsoft removed, replaced, or restricted - including taskbar labels and grouping, Start menu style and position, the full File Explorer context menu and ribbon, classic Alt+Tab window switching, and system tray flyouts - while keeping the desktop fast and configurable. It integrates with Windows Explorer rather than replacing the desktop, and every setting lives in one focused control panel.

What is this website?

explorerpatcher.app is an independent website. Its purpose is to give people a simple, fast way to learn about and download ExplorerPatcher, along with clear, practical guidance on installing and configuring it. We do not host a modified build and we do not bundle anything extra - the download buttons lead directly to the original release assets published on the project official GitHub Releases page. This is not the official ExplorerPatcher site.

Created by valinet

ExplorerPatcher was created by Valentin-Gabriel Radu, known as valinet. It began as a focused way to restore useful Windows interface behavior that was removed in newer releases, then grew into a broader shell-customization utility. The project is released under the GPL-2.0 license, and its source code, development history, issues, and release notes are developed in public. If you find ExplorerPatcher useful, the best way to support it is at the source: you can star the project, report issues, contribute code, or sponsor ongoing development on the official ExplorerPatcher GitHub repository.
